GOBABIS – Deputy Minister for Disability Affairs in the Presidency Alexia Manombe-Ncube visited Omaheke last week to engage people with disabilities and hand over donations received through her office.

Manombe-Ncube and his team made a stopover in Omitara and enrolled people with disabilities in the individual support program before going to Gobabis, where they delivered musical instruments to the governor’s office, and health kits to beneficiaries via the office of the constituency councilor.

Handing over the musical instruments that were donated to his office by Basic Affordable Sustainable Services (BASS), an organization from Drachten in the Netherlands, Manombe-Ncube said the items are aimed at young people with disabilities with potential and talent. in musical activities.

“BASS approached our office to donate this equipment, especially to disabled youth in the Omaheke area. They identified a few young people with disabilities who have the potential and are good at this type of activity. So we hand them over to the governor’s office so that the governor can hand them over to the target community, ”Manombe-Ncube said.

She added that BASS has also donated other items to her office, such as wheelchairs and other assistive devices which will ultimately all be handed over to affected people across the country.

At the Gobabis constituency office, Manombe-Ncube handed over the packages to the guardians of the beneficiaries, young disabled girls. Eight packs in the form of backpacks containing sanitary napkins, sanitary napkins, soap and other hygiene items were donated by UNFPA.

She then went to Epukiro, where she continued her awareness-raising activities and still handed out sanitary napkins to young people with disabilities.
