Students from Taaqademy Music School (the music school founded by city band Thermal And A Quarter) perform live this weekend. After 18 months of online lessons and recitals, the musicians will meet for the first time. Expect to hear pop hits, rock classics and even some of their own compositions.

Bengaluru-based musician Bruce Lee Mani, frontman of TAAQ, said: “The concert will be 90 minutes long and feature six student groups, with members ranging from college students to professionals, as well as a few soloists. we now have students in 20 countries, some soloists will join us on stage via LiveStream from their hometown! Their friends and family will also be able to watch the full performance live. performers playing music to audiences online and offline! The music performed is a mixture of rock and pop songs from different eras. “

Bruce admits that there have been some challenges in running the online courses over the past year. “Our entire USP was built around unique spaces, scrambling, collaboration, etc. And then, in less than 24 hours, we had to move to a fully online academy during the first lockdown! It was crazy and hectic and very difficult but I think we managed to find a way to get through it, ”he says, adding:“ The biggest validation was seeing the groups come together, for the first time, last Saturday. When you consider that these students never met, never played together, studied all of their parts online (some even started studying their instruments for the first time online), it was quite amazing to see how well it worked (video attached). It’s really the validation of our teaching method I guess – and we can’t wait for these performers to take the stage!
